Applies professional knowledge and expertise to research, prepare and coordinate the writing of the cultural resource sections of resource management plans and specific action plans governing the management and protection of cultural resources.

  • Prepares compliance and assessment of effect findings, with supporting documentation, for National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 110/106 and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects.
  • Develops and maintains liaisons and effective working relations with related groups, individuals, agencies, park staff and management.
  • Carries out program management duties by developing and managing work plans and schedules, scopes of work, cost estimates, and budget proposals and/or grants to justify funding requests and accomplish goals.
  • Performs or directs substantive, project-oriented work involving archeology, history, or cultural anthropology programs found at the park(s).
  • Collects, analyzes, and synthesizes scientific information from research, monitoring, resources management actions, and other sources of information and prepares reports for specific projects.
  • Incorporates appropriate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology into job to provide comprehensive and scientifically sound answers to inquiries from managers and others.
  • Uses automatic methods of data collection, analysis, or illustration and inputs data into digital form and uses computer applications for data research, analysis, manipulation, and presentation.
