NHQ:DCS - Preparedness Programs - Research Intern (Winter 2022)

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.

This unpaid intern will research and document potential national, state and local wildfire mitigation partners and their corresponding local contacts into an online database to be used by Red Cross staff and clients.
  • Gather information on potential organizations skilled and able to perform wildfire mitigation services for residents at high risk with barriers to perform these services themselves
  • Create an in-depth database that showcases multiple levels of organization and ways to search

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently towards project goals and deadlines
  • Experience with data organization and data entry
  • Experience using search engines to mine data
