Legal Assistant
Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English or Portuguese/English) Corporate Legal Assistant to join their Washington, DC office. This role supports a busy team of six attorneys working on cross‑border corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structured finance, and trade finance. It is well suited for candidates with one to five years of corporate legal support experience in a large law firm environment. The firm may also consider college graduates with strong technical skills and an interest in corporate transactional work, provided you have professional fluency in one of the aforementioned languages. This role is a blend of administrative and project/research-oriented support for the attorneys. Our client offers a 35-hour workweek and is seeking applicants able to work at least four days a week in their Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout the lifecycle of corporate transactions by preparing polished correspondence, organizing deal materials, and keeping key documents and spreadsheets up to date.
- Coordinate the logistics that keep the team running smoothly; scheduling meetings, arranging conference rooms, preparing materials, greeting clients, and ensuring everyone has what they need.
- Handle travel planning and expense processing with accuracy and efficiency.
- Keep attorneys organized by managing calendars, fielding calls, maintaining files, and overseeing the flow of mail and documents.
- Assist with research, information gathering, and project coordination for ongoing matters.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1–5 years of experience supporting attorneys in a corporate or transactional practice, ideally within a DC Big Law environment; strong early‑career candidates with relevant skills and a desire to learn are also encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with corporate transactions, such as M&A, securities work, or compliance—helps you hit the ground running.
- Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel, including comfort with formatting, tables, and document organization.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when reviewing documents for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
- Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a welcome bonus.
